London – Al Jazeera media company said in a Sunday statement that four of its journalists, including the outstanding correspondent for Sharif, were killed in an Israeli air attack in a tent in the city of Gaza.

The correspondent Mohammed Qreiqeh and the cameraman Ibrahim Zaher and Mohammed Noufal were also killed in the attack, he told to jazeera.

Sunday’s strike occurred after the committee to protect journalists published an appeal for the protection of Sharif, saying that he was “seriously concerned” about their safety and accusing the IDF of launching a “smear campaign”, against him, that Sharif “believes he is a precursor to his murder.”

Sharif was one of the best known journalists who reported Gaza, with millions of followers on social networks. The last time he published in his accounts X and Instagram minutes before his death.

The CPJ said that 186 journalists have been killed since the beginning of the Israel-Gaza War on October 7, 2023. At least 178 of them were Palestinians killed by Israeli forces, the group said.
