The parents of a 7 -month missing child appear in the court for the first time since the arrest, accused of murder

Emmanuel Haro’s parents, the 7 -month -old boy who has been missing for almost two weeks, appeared in a California court on Tuesday after they were accused of the baby’s murder.

Jake Mitchell Haro, 32, and Renee Renee Haro, 41, were arrested at their residence in Cabazon for the murder of Emmanuel, the authorities said last week. The two have been accused of murder and a false police report, the Riverside County District Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday.

Emmanuel Haro was reported as missing on August 14 at approximately 7:47 pm local time after his mother “informed being attacked outside a retail store in Yucaipa Boulevard,” said the Sheriff’s office of the San Bernardino County in a statement on August 15.

While the search for Emmanuel Haro, a 7 -month missing son, seen here in this photo without date, continues, officials cannot “rule out dirty game” since the mother’s story has contained inconsistencies, according to the department of the Sheriff of the San Bernardino County.

The parents appeared in the Court, with public defenders representing the mother and the father, for less than five minutes on Tuesday, with a bail of $ 1 million established for both. Its reading positions will continue on September 4.

While the child has not yet been located by officials, he is supposed to be dead and the authorities are now looking for their remains.

On Sunday, the officials conducted another search for the 7 -month -old child “along the west shoulder of the 60s, near Gilman Springs Road, in Moreno Valley,” with the father of the child and the corpse dogs that accompany the detectives. That search concluded after “Emmanuel was not,” authorities said.

When Emmanuel was originally reported by disappearance, her mother told officials that “while she was stopped outside her vehicle, changing the child’s diaper, she was physically assaulted by an unknown man and was unconscious,” authorities said.

When she woke up, the girl was gone, the mother said at that time, according to the officials.

Once on the scene, smelling dogs were deployed, but the 7 -month -old boy “did not find,” authorities said.

Jake Haro, 32, and Rebecca Haro, 41, were arrested on August 22 for the murder of his 7 -month -old son, Emmanuel Haro, who has been disappeared since August 14, according to the Sheriff’s office of the San Bernardino County Sheriff.

The Sheriff’s department interviewed “multiple people” regarding the disappearance, including the child’s parents.

Since then, the authorities noticed that they have made “extensive” searches in the areas of Yucaipa and Cabazon and have also served “several search warrants in the house of Haro.” The authorities also said that they were reviewing a “large amount of surveillance video” of the areas of interest.

In an interview with Los Angeles Kabc ABC Station before his arrest, Rebecca Haro described his son as a “happy child” and begged who his son has had to “return him to me.”

Rebecca Haro, the mother of a 7 -month missing girl, has had inconsistencies in her statement regarding the disappearance of her son, according to the Sheriff’s office in San Bernardino County.

“Please, don’t hurt my son,” he told Kabc on August 16.

The father, Jake Haro, previously declared himself guilty of intentional cruelty to a child after an arrest in 2018, Kabc reported.

“Whoever has taken our son, please bring it back,” Jake Haro told Kabc on August 16.

Rebecca Haro is currently at the Robert Presley detention center, while Jake Haro is stopped at the Larry D. Smith correctional center, according to prison records. Both are currently without bail, Sheriff’s office said.

The names of public defenders representing parents were not clear immediately.
