Los Angeles police arrested eight members last week of what they call a prolific robbery team that, they said, was responsible for almost 100 robberies throughout the city, authorities announced on Monday.

“This team, which had victimized families and businesses, is no longer a threat to our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Karen Bass at a press conference on Monday.

The suspects, identified by the Police as members of the “Rico Roll” Role Role crew, supposedly committed 92 residential robberies dating from 2022, and most occurred in 2024 and 2025, police said. The crimes covered multiple neighborhoods of Los Angeles, from West la to the San Fernando Valley, according to the Police.

The arrested suspects are aged 22 to 47, according to the police. Seven of them were hired by charges that include theft and possession of controlled substances while they were armed, police said, while a suspect surrendered in response to an active arrest order. According to the police, two more suspicious suspects that were already in custody for unrelated murder attempts were accused in relation to thefts.

Police said the early crew on Wednesday morning, August 20 and executed search orders in eight places where they recovered an arsenal of weapons and stolen products that included 15 firearms, high -capacity magazines, body armor and a 50 -round gun battery journal.

According to the police, the officers also confiscated robbery tools, window punching tools, bears, facial masks, lighthouses and portable communication radios.

“These people represent the type of repeat offenders that we are attacking through our crime suppression strategies,” said LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell, at Monday’s press conference.

The investigation won impulse in February when the officers recognized a suspicious truck of two previous robberies, which led to three initial arrests, police said. An April search warrant showed additional evidence, including rifles, guns, stolen credit cards and false ID, according to officials.

“We are doing more with less,” McDonnell said during Monday’s press conference, describing a strategy that includes an increase in patrols, air support, mounted units and community participation programs.

Nathan Hochman district prosecutor revealed that the main online markets are now associated with the police to combat robberies.

“Amazon, Ebay and Facebook Marketplace are working with the police to help identify features,” said Hochman, referring to criminals who sell stolen products. This cooperation helps the authorities to track both the sellers of stolen goods and the original thieves, according to Hochman.

Mayor Bass said that Los Angeles has seen homicides decrease to a decrease in low and violent violent criminals of 60 years.

“We will continue to make the angels safer, neighborhood by neighborhood, block by block,” he said.
