Two people have accepted four Oscar in a single night in past years.
Walt Disney was the first to establish the record of winning four Oscar in one night in the 27 Academy Awards in 1954. However, Disney accepted four Oscar for four different films, while all the Baker were for “Anora”.
Bong Joon-Ho accepted four Oscar in a single night in the 92nd Academy Awards in 2020. However, one of the trophies he accepted was the best international feature film for his film “Parasite”. The Oscar in that category technically go to the country of origin for the film, which means that Joon-Ho accepted in the name of South Korea, not himself.
During all his acceptance speeches, Baker talked about the power of independent cinema, both how he has inspired him as how he expects the art form to continue in the coming generations.
